Bow Wow Wow
Bow Wow Wow were all the rage in Europe in the early 1980s. They certainly had the look, orchestrated by Malcolm McLaren, with teen sex kitten Anabella Lwin leading the group.Their sound was spare but forceful, propelled by Lwin's vocals.
They never really made it in the U.S., but they did chart a few singles.

I really know the candy song, but I was surprised when I heard that McLaren basically stole the Ants from Adam Ant and turned them into Bow Wow Wow.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least some of the Ants. Adam Ant and Marco Pironi were the constants in the group, and then there was an ever-changing array of musicians backing them up. Bow Wow Wow contained a few of these musicians.
